Niklas Björk studies business administration at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, specializing in human resources and management. In the autumn of 2022, he ended up at Secapp through an internship required by his studies. After the internship period, he has worked in the role of Administration Assistant.
– At Secapp, I’ve had the opportunity to take on various human resource tasks, such as improving employee well-being, recruitment, and payroll management. I have also been involved in the financial side of the company regarding invoicing.”

The job has involved a lot of collaboration with others, especially with Heidi Kolehmainen (Head of People and Culture) and Kari Kalmukoski (Chief Financial Officer). In addition to daily tasks, Niklas has been part of setting up Secapp’s Helsinki office at the end of 2022 – starting from building the office furniture. He also provided assistance during the customer day and has been part of the organizing team for many events, whether they were employee or customer-related events, or theme days.
– After the preparations for the Helsinki office were completed, rather quickly I was asked to participate in assisting tasks during Secapp’s customer day. So, my work days have been full of activities.

During the customer day, Niklas could be seen handling various tasks: setting up wires, guiding people, carrying tables, and picking up quick items from the press in the middle of the day – and everything was done with a smile. He received praise from many directions.
Smooth communication is everything
As a company providing critical communication services, the importance of internal communication is also emphasized at Secapp. Niklas mentions that the significance of smooth communication within the work community is one of the most important things he has learned from this job.

Niklas highlights learning through tasks and working with others as the best aspects of working at Secapp. He has been able to challenge himself in the job and even exceed his own expectations.
He never found himself in a situation where he was left alone, as colleagues have always been willing to help with a smile.

“I don’t know exactly what I want to do when I “grow up” but I hope to find a suitable role for myself in the human resources field”, says Niklas.
