Secapp has been accepted as a member of the Finnish Defence and Aerospace Industries PIA Association (PIA) starting on January 1, 2026. The membership strengthens Secapp’s position as part of Finland’s comprehensive security ecosystem and supports the company’s growth in operating environments involving authorities, defence, and critical infrastructure.

PIA is the Finnish interest organization for the defence, aviation, space, and security industries, bringing together key companies in the sector as well as authorities and other stakeholders. Membership provides a platform for cooperation, knowledge-sharing, and development both nationally and internationally, including NATO-compatible operating environments.

Secapp is a versatile platform for alerting, communication, and documentation that supports operational readiness in demanding and exceptional operating environments. The solution is particularly suited to the needs of the defence and security sector, for example in hospital and medical operations, base logistics, rescue and search operations, training activities, multi-organization collaboration, and humanitarian assistance. Secapp’s secure and fast multichannel communication, together with real-time situational awareness, supports preparedness, resource allocation, and effective operations during crises and disruptions.

Secapp’s purpose is based on protecting human life, minimizing the impact of crises, and safeguarding daily operations. Its use covers, among other things, hospitals, search and rescue operations, disaster relief, cooperation with civilian organizations and volunteer actors, as well as logistics and support functions. Typical use cases include improving preparedness, alerting and mobilizing personnel, building a common operational picture, and the secure communication related to these. Secapp’s use in the defence sector focuses on defensive, humanitarian, and peace- and stability-promoting purposes.

– PIA membership supports Secapp’s growth in the defence and security industry. We already have experience and a foothold in this operating environment, and through membership we want to further strengthen our position. At the same time, we believe we can bring added value to the PIA community through our more than 15 years of experience in developing and using reliable, information-secure critical communication and alerting solutions, says Marko Pitkänen, Head of Commercial Operations, Secapp

Secapp is not an operational battle management or command-and-control system, nor is it intended for offensive military operations, battlefield command, intelligence, or coordinating the use of force. The solution serves as a supporting communication and alerting platform that improves reliability and interoperability across organizational boundaries.

PIA membership strengthens Secapp’s role as part of Finnish and European security cooperation. It supports the company’s long-term development in comprehensive security, cooperation with authorities, and strengthening society’s preparedness capabilities. The membership promotes the development of reliable and independent solutions, particularly from the perspective of security of supply and EU-level resilience. At the same time, it supports compatibility with international cooperation frameworks, such as NATO cooperation.
