A new feature has been added to the Secapp service to enhance the management of emergencies and communication during such situations. When a mobile user triggers an alert, they are automatically directed to a video meeting related to the alert. The user’s microphone is activated automatically and requires no action from the sender. This allows alert recipients to immediately hear what is happening in the sender’s surroundings through the meeting. The microphone remains open for the entire duration of the meeting, enabling the formation of a proper situational picture and appropriate response.
Alert recipients on mobile devices are given the option to join the same meeting directly with a single tap. Recipients using the web application join the meeting in the usual way.
The solution also takes into account recipients’ operating environments and data protection requirements. Recipients are not automatically connected to the meeting, as they may be in a situation where participation is not possible or appropriate for safety or privacy reasons. In multi-location control rooms, this also allows coordination of which operators participate in which alerts in cases of multiple simultaneous alerts, ensuring that not all available operators are tied into every alert at the same time.
This new feature provides a faster and more flexible way to support the person raising the alert and ensures that critical information is delivered in real time to the right people.
Priority meet is not enabled by default. Instead, its use is configured in message templates together with “Enable videocall for the message” setting.
The feature will become available in September.
